Oklahoma County deputy shoots self in foot instead of dog
Posted: Mar 04, 2014 2:30 PM CST Updated: Mar 04, 2014 2:30 PM CSTAn Oklahoma County Sheriff's Deputy is recovering after accidentally shooting himself in the foot during a call Tuesday morning.
The sheriff's office say the deputy was hurt in the 3500 block of Hicks, near Spencer, around 9:30 AM Tuesday. The office says he was responding to an animal control call about a loose dog.
As the deputy arrived on scene, the dog began attacking him and biting at his foot. The deputy pulled his weapon and pulled the trigger but the dog moved and instead of hitting the dog, he shot himself in the foot.
He was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries. His name has not been released.
The one time a dog actually DOES attack, and it gets away. If it'd been a beloved family pet wagging its tail, it'd be dead, dead, dead!
