Because money isn't an abstract belief that the dollar is worth purchasing power anymore. Money is a commodity. Its bought and sold by big corporations, moved around, and put in the electronic pockets of the controllers of those moves. Those companies with the most control of the commodity of money control all the other commodities regular companies used to be able to purchase.
America doesn't manufacture anymore. America doesn't produce anymore. Our best minds are going to college to learn better ways to move money around, not grow more or better food, or make new and innovative means to make lives better. Nobody with money gives a shit if you can't afford to feed your kids. They can buy the little there is available that now costs an outrageous amount because they control the money!
Why don't Patriots revolt against the bastards in DC and the big banks? Because we don't have the MONEY. We see what's happening. We know the fuckers are raping us. But THEY have all the MONEY. Those people who do have jobs will do anything they can to keep their position. Police will press fake charges to up city revenue, to keep the city going, to keep paying them to press fake charges. Farmers use genetically altered seeds to grow faster, more abundant produce with less nutritional value in order to keep the farm they run to feed their family. Our elected officials know that they get their pensions and cushy positions only as long as they keep the power brokers happy. They tell us what we want to hear to get elected, then realize they can only help "the poor downtrodden masses" if they keep their position of power. Which means they have to sell their soul to keep this power by giving in to those with the money.

We have ONE option to take back control of this country. Its not armed revolt. Its MONEY. Stop buying "new and improved" artificially sweetened, colored, flavored, plastically reproduced, genetically enhanced CRAP, and buy locally. Set up barter systems. Build REAL communities in your communities, and then, when the "gubmint" comes in THEN you pick up your rifles and defend your rights.
The only power they have is the power we, as a free country with free will give them. Its time to STOP giving them power. Keep what little money trickles down to our sorry asses and work in your communities to provide for each other.
Might as well get used to it. When the unsustainable economy we purchase with our souls collapses around us, at least we'll have a head start...

Well said, my friend. Maybe this is the way to go. Perhaps, if our community-based barter network expands, we'll see whole areas simply forgo the dollar entirely!
What if they controlled all the money and nobody wanted it...?
