I couldn't agree more

From Rob Allen over at Sharp As A Marble:

Tampa has one of those left leaning rags called the TBT. In Atlanta, it was Creative Loafing, but I’m sure you know the kind of dead-tree publication I’m talking about. There’s an issue sitting on the table in the break room that’s complaining about the Florida law that makes it illegal to buy a hearing aid online.

I can’t help but chuckle at these whiney little people. They’re the ones who believe the government should step in and take over any aspect of your life that some mythical, omniscient bureaucrat believes they know more about that you. We need government to permit us to build a patio onto our house, to allow us to drive on the roads, tell us what food is safe to eat, what health insurance we must buy, how many cartridges can be contained in a spring loaded box, when and where it’s permissible to pray, who can say “I Do” to who else, what chemicals may or may not be ingested, ad nauseum.

You want to force me to pay for someone’s health care / schooling / cockectomy? Well, to force me to do that required that you give some faceless bureaucrat all the power to make that feasible and this same empty suit is now calling the shots on what is and isn’t legal, and that includes buying hearing aids online.

The saddest part is that these idiots can’t see the problem. Instead of realizing that giving the government this much power is the actual problem, they will instead give them MORE power and hope the right faceless bureaucrat happens to be holding the reins of control that particular day.

You asked for this, you’re getting it. Stop whining.
