Yeah, good luck with that...

I don't link to stupid shit. So I'm not going to link the video I just watched on firestarting.

Summation: Some dude showing off his firestarting pack he's put together. The kit is pretty all-inclusive; Bic Lighter, small knife, firesteel, stormproof matches, lighter fluid style lighter, BlastMatch (which is just another firesteel), Army surplus fire tinder, and finally, cotton balls in a plastic jar soaked in petroleum jelly.

GREAT KIT. I'm positive this man could use his kit to light a fire in the middle of a tsunami-hurricane-blizzard during then next coming of the Great Flood.

One little problem though. Did ya see it?

Yep. Its all in ONE kit. Let's say you drop it, or it falls out of your reach in your vehicle as you go off the road and get stuck under the steering wheel. And its cold out.

Can we say 'fucked'?

I have a leather cord with attached firesteel around my neck. In my front left pants pocket, I have a bic for ease of use, and a firesteel for more adverse conditions. On my keychain, I have a metal waterproof container with Vaseline soaked cotton balls, and a small lighter fluid style lighter. In my car I have an emergency kit that has a bic and firesteel, and in my trunk I have a bic, firesteel, and sterno.

Diversity in location as well as in means. One way or another, I ain't goin' without a way to make fire!
