It won't be the first time...

 

The government is making this huge VA issue to try to impress all of us good little citizens how much they care about us, and what an outrage it is that our veterans have been treated so badly.

Well, No Shit! Its only been going on for, oh, I don't know. Forever?

The government flunkies get bigger bonuses for recording how very many of our veterans they care for. Not for actually caring for them, mind you, but for putting on paper some made up number to increase the monetary lining of their pockets. The actual veterans can go fuck themselves.

This is nothing new, and it only took more than 40 Americans dying while waiting for medical care they didn't receive to bring the issue out in the open. The president knew what was going on. Shisenki knew what was going on. Hell, everyone, down to the vets the VA was supposed to be helping, knew what was going on.

When Shisenki 'offered his resignation' and was subsequently lauded for his great service by the Liar-In-Chief, he was just the sacrificial lamb to appease the masses. "See? We are DOING something!" our two-faced fuck-up of a president declares.

Meanwhile, we all know that Shisenki was told something to the effect of "Listen, Rick. We need a fall guy. Someone to take the blame. It CAN'T be me, because, well....I'm Obama!

But if you take a dive, we'll say you 'resigned', set you up in some nice cushy position outside the public eye, and make sure you're set for life.

And nothing will change, and our veterans will die. Its not the first time the government has treated our veterans badly, its just a continuation. But the last time the vets rose up in anger, American troops and even tanks were used to put down the uprising. Keep in mind that this was before the internet, and one man organized this gathering.

The problem was, they protested. Should of just opened season on government officials from cover until their concerns were addressed, and the money the government had promised them was paid. Open opposition to six tanks backed by the military that broke their oaths didn't work out so well...

Funny how I never learned this in History class in school, hm?

The Bonus Army was the popular name of an assemblage of some 43,000 marchers—17,000 World War I veterans, their families, and affiliated groups—who gathered in Washington, D.C., in the spring and summer of 1932 to demand cash-payment redemption of their service certificates. Its organizers called it the Bonus Expeditionary Force to echo the name of World War I's American Expeditionary Force, while the media called it the Bonus March. It was led by Walter W. Waters, a former Army sergeant.
Many of the war veterans had been out of work since the beginning of the Great Depression. The World War Adjusted Compensation Act of 1924 had awarded them bonuses in the form of certificates they could not redeem until 1945. Each service certificate, issued to a qualified veteran soldier, bore a face value equal to the soldier's promised payment plus compound interest. The principal demand of the Bonus Army was the immediate cash payment of their certificates.
Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler, one of the most popular military figures of the time, visited their camp to back the effort and encourage them.^[1] On July 28, U.S. Attorney General William D. Mitchell ordered the veterans removed from all government property. Washington police met with resistance, shots were fired and two veterans were wounded and later died. Veterans were also shot dead at other locations during the demonstration. President Herbert Hoover then ordered the army to clear the veterans' campsite. Army Chief of Staff General Douglas MacArthur commanded the infantry and cavalry supported by six tanks. The Bonus Army marchers with their wives and children were driven out, and their shelters and belongings burned.
