Tips, Tricks, and Tools

A comment Phil over at The Vulgar Curmudgeon made in his post about his nephew's car got me thinking of all the tight squeezes I've had working on my own little foreign made POS.

Reminded me of this tool I'd seen before, and one that is a must if you work in tight spaces. (And no, it's not a condom...)

I could have used these any number of times. Now if they just made it in adjustable sizes somehow...oh well...

  1. I've had a set of those for over twenty years and have only used them a few times.
They were originally sold by MAC tools and advertized as Metric "speed wrenches" for tubing nuts, ie; brake lines etc.
They can be a pain in the ass but when you are in a tight spot they fuckin' rock!
They of course were expensive motherfuckers back then.
One really great place to use them is on the transmission cooler lines at the radiator on some rigs.

  2. Kinda what I was thinking. Wouldn't need them very often, but when you DO....

  3. I have a set in standard sizes that is about 35 years old. I have used them about 10 times in that timeframe. When you need one of these nothing else will do.
