My Granddad used one of these to lift logs for chaining to drag out of the woods. Worth knowing if you need to lift a heavy weight and don't have access to a jack!

 

by levering the weight upward with a rocking motion, and moving the pins upward, it makes it easy to lift even the heaviest weight. Just make sure you have good pins.
